Our Art Psychotherapy Summer School this year provides participants with the opportunity to experience an intensive 5 session experiential class, and involves experiential learning about Art Psychotherapy and will be of interest to anyone wishing to find out more about training in one of this discipline as well as individuals wanting to explore their creativity in a unique environment. In addition this Summer School may be of interest to mental health professionals, teachers and social workers etc. interested in learning more about these unique and creative forms of therapy. A degree of active participation will be expected from all participants who should therefore be prepared for a degree of personal disclosure, sharing and exploration. The Art Psychotherapy Summer School provides participants with an opportunity to engage in a deeper and more intensive exploration of the art therapeutic process in 5 consecutive days. Our Dance Movement Summer School this year provides participants with the opportunity to experience an intensive 5 session experiential class within this therapy discipline, and involves experiential learning about Dance Movement Psychotherapy. It is therefore of interest to anyone wishing to find out more about training in this discipline as well as individuals wanting to explore their creativity in a unique environment. In addition this summer school may be of interest to mental health professionals, teachers and social workers etc. interested in learning more about these unique and creative forms of therapy. A degree of active participation will be expected from all participants who should therefore be prepared for a degree of personal disclosure, sharing and exploration. Combining the art form of dance and movement with psychotherapeutic models, participants will be invited to experiment through a range of non-verbal and verbal expressions—movement, gesture, words, play, rhythm, storytelling and ritual. The main focus is to explore a way of linking body awareness with emotional awareness.

The summer school in Dramatherapy is primarily experiential. Participants will explore the fundamentals of Dramatherapy practice, the basic structure of a Dramatherapy session, clinical applications, and creative explorations into the role of a dramatherapist.

Our Music Therapy Summer School this year provides participants with the opportunity to experience an intensive 5 session experiential class, and involves experiential learning about Music Therapy. Over five days, this course will provide an insight into music therapy practice, introducing a wide range of subjects which will give the student a comprehensive overview of what the training course can offer and what a career as a music therapist involves. The course will use case material to show work in a range of settings, and will link these with the psychological theories which underpin clinical practice. An overview of the types of challenges affecting clients who benefit from music therapy will also be covered.

In addition this summer school may be of interest to mental health professionals, teachers and social workers etc. interested in learning more about these unique and creative forms of therapy. Our summer school is run each year to offer individuals the opportunity to learn and experience some of the theory and practical elements of client-centred Play Therapy. Participants who attend will be able to use their learning to enhance both their understanding of children’s emotional and behavioural development and their skills in working with children who experience difficulties.
